Good morning. It’s GERS day today so I have given some debunking links.

It’s that time of the year again so here’s a few articles on Gers. Just remember this,  Westminster cooks the books!!

      Morning Nick,
I could have filled the page with many more on Gers but thought those were enough {for now 🙂 )

Plenty of links, Nana, as I hide under the duvet to avoid the worst Yoon excesses of GERS Day. At least now we have plenty of debunking information, if any Naysayer would listen. Usually they just flounce off with a simple, “I don’t believe you/you would say that.”

I see that Tory party chairman Mr Cleverly (misnomer du jour) doesn’t want to publish the full text of the government’s Brexit impact report in case people would “misunderstand” its contents. Tories of all three hues are quite happy, of course, that we “misunderstand” the GERS figures so that we believe Scotland is an economic basket case.

I enjoy Barrhead Boy’s one-liners and today was no exception. If only we had a billboard big enough to mount them all: Yoon apoplexy would result all over Scotland.

      Morning Smallaxe,
I was waiting for you to come along with the coffee 🙂

Morning, Smallaxe, great to hear from you. Would like to say “Wish you were here” but I’m under the duvet at the moment.

Greetings too to Marie Clark: just saw your comment on the previous thread. Harvey says , “Hi”.

Pravdasound 4 this morning desperately trying to float the idea that the EU may press Ireland into weakening its stance on the backstop. Don’t know wot the Today programme editors are smoking these days.

Of course, we need to remember when reading GERS that the UK has a debt representing 87% of its GDP.

    Scotland, OTOH, does not.
