A Lesson for Us All: a musical interlude.

"Organise and never give up" sounds like a pretty good motto for independence. I think we still have a way to go yet.

Aye Tinto, fine man yon Joe Hill  but for Americans I would go for Martin Luther King. He even gets a mention from the Great Scottish emigre Eric Bogle in this  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpvM0-85WBQ

For Greatest Scots of the Twentieth century I would say Jimmy Reid. I  don't know of any songs about him although someone will post one, hopefully.

Thought for a minute you were going to post And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda, Hacka, also by Peebles' Finest, Mr Bogle. MLK's final speech gets me every time and suggests  he knew he was doomed to die soon at the hands of the forces of darkness.

Wot, no Richard Nixon?

Wot, no Richard Nixon?

There is a Ballad of Richard Nixon but this one about his VP by Tom Paxton shows the skill of the songwriter and could be applied to Boris equally   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0e-eNZupxc

Admirably concise, Hacka. Less is truly more in Spiro's case and the point was made perfectly.
